Agile Robots raises €750M growth round from SoftBank Vision Fund 2

Agile Robots secures approximately €750M ($800m) in a growth round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2. The Japanese conglomerate is reportedly contributing 300 million to the megaround, which remains in the early stages as terms are finalised. The Munich-based company reached unicorn status in 2021 and has rapidly expanded its workforce to over 3,200 employees across Germany, China, and India.

A spinout from the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Agile Robots develops AI-powered hardware including robotic arms, warehouse automation technology, and humanoid systems. Its platform combines force-torque sensors and advanced computer vision to enable robots to operate alongside humans in complex industrial environments. The technology targets bottlenecks in manufacturing, logistics, and precision engineering.

This capital injection follows a significant uptick in financing for the European robotics sector, where equity funding jumped 130% in 2025. Agile Robots operates in an increasingly competitive landscape, with regional rivals such as Neura Robotics and humanoid developer 1X also pursuing nine-figure funding rounds to scale production capacity.

The deal reflects a broader trend of deeptech investors pivoting toward physical AI, as European hardware startups increasingly attract the massive capital tiers typically reserved for software peers.
