Ditto secures €7.6M to scale medical consultation summaries

Ditto banked €7.6M in a funding round led by Heal Capital. The investment includes participation from Optiverder and Rubio Impact Ventures. Based in Rotterdam, the company intends to use the capital to support its expansion across Europe following its initial launch in 2025.

The startup provides an app that translates complex medical consultations into plain language for patients and their families. Users record their doctor's appointment or upload a photo of a medical letter; the platform then generates a clear summary within minutes. To support diverse patient groups, the summaries can be translated into several languages including Turkish and Arabic.

Founded by Tobias Polak, Bart Voorn, and Merlijn van Breugel, Ditto employs a "privacy-by-design" technical architecture. The system processes summaries without central data storage and protects mobile access via biometric logins. The platform aims to reduce the administrative burden on healthcare professionals by decreasing the volume of follow-up questions from patients who may have missed key details during a consultation.

As European health systems face increasing pressure from professional shortages, tools that automate patient communication and clinical documentation are becoming vital components of the regional HealthTech ecosystem.
