Silo AI founder’s new venture Qutwo raises €25M angel round

Qutwo banked €25M in an angel round to scale its hybrid AI and quantum computing platform. The investment features a high-profile roster of individual backers, including Yuri Milner, Xavier Niel, and Ilkka Paananen, alongside Hugging Face co-founder Thomas Wolf and Legora’s Max Junestrand. The round values the Helsinki-based startup at €325M post-money.

The company develops software designed to help large enterprises exploit quantum processing units (QPUs) for complex optimisation and simulation tasks. Taking an agnostic approach to quantum hardware, the platform serves clients in financial services, energy, and life sciences. Qutwo reports €20M in contracted revenue, with a customer list that includes Finland’s OP Financial Group.

The founding team brings significant pedigree from the Finnish deeptech ecosystem. Executive chairman Peter Sarlin previously founded Silo AI, which sold to AMD for $665M, while co-founders Kuan Yen Tan and Kaj-Mikael Björk held senior roles at quantum hardware firm IQM and Silo AI respectively. The startup launched in February 2026 and has already reached a headcount of 50 staff.

As the industry shifts focus from GPUs to quantum-ready architectures, Qutwo represents a move by veteran European founders to institutionalise quantum software applications before the hardware reaches full maturity.
