The Barcelona-based startup develops MaferOS, a specialized operating system designed for research and development teams in formulation-led sectors such as cosmetics, fragrances, food, beverages, and specialty chemicals. The platform uses artificial intelligence to ingest and structure decades of technical R&D history — including laboratory analyses, failed formulas, and regulatory decisions — that are typically siloed in spreadsheets or old documentation.
By training proprietary models on a customer’s specific historical data, the system automates technical decisions and regulatory compliance checks across multiple jurisdictions. This infrastructure aims to address the structural bottleneck where product innovation cycles currently lag well behind market demand, often due to fragmented data layers and the loss of institutional knowledge when senior experts retire.
The raise signals a growing appetite for specialized vertical AI that moves beyond general-purpose models to solve deep industrial inefficiencies in Europe's traditional manufacturing strongholds.
