WaiV Robotics banked €6.4 million ($7.5 million) in Seed funding as it emerges from stealth. The London-based company intends to use the capital to develop and deploy its landing infrastructure designed for the offshore energy and shipping sectors.
The startup manufactures a fully automatic landing and takeoff platform. This hardware enables vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drones to operate safely on moving vessels and offshore installations, even during high sea states. By synchronising the platform’s motion with the drone's flight path, the system removes the requirement for manual piloting in turbulent maritime environments.
Founder and CEO Johnny Carni notes that while drone technology has matured, the lack of physical infrastructure for remote operations remains a bottleneck for offshore adoption. The round follows a period of concentrated investment in European autonomy; the sector has seen over €200 million in capital flight during the first half of 2026, including several UK-based peers focused on defence and industrial robotics.
The raise highlights a growing appetite for physical AI and enabling infrastructure that bridges the gap between autonomous flight and existing maritime logistics.
