GR3N banked €15.5M in Series B funding led by 360 Capital. The round enables the Swiss company to begin construction on a commercial-scale production facility for its proprietary plastic recycling technology.
The company develops a chemical recycling process that uses microwave technology to break down polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyester waste into its original monomers. Unlike mechanical recycling, which often results in lower-quality plastic, this chemical depolymerisation method allows the resulting materials to be reused indefinitely for food-grade packaging and textiles.
Based in Lugano, the startup focuses on treating hard-to-recycle materials, such as coloured plastics and fabric blends, which typically end up in landfill or incineration. The new investment will support the development of a first-of-its-kind plant capable of processing large volumes of synthetic waste into virgin-quality plastic components.
As European regulators tighten mandates on recycled content for the packaging and fashion industries, infrastructure that handles complex waste streams remains a critical bottleneck for the circular economy.
